SNA messaging on the importance of healthy school meals generated over 136 million media impressions in 2008, a record amount of media coverage.

The 2009 Gene White Lifetime Achievement Award for Child Nutrition will be awarded to Mr. Marshall Matz, a leader, advocate and attorney who has spent the last 38 years pursuing a wide range of solutions to childhood hunger in the U.S. and internationally.

2008 marked another successful year for the School Nutrition Association. This year, SNA introduced new programs and launched improved versions of old ones. Throughout the year, people turned to SNA for expert information on school nutrition, further solidifying the Association as the voice of school nutrition.
